Information technologies in university management represent one of UTM’s strategic priorities. Taking into account the need to digitalize the documentation of the teaching–learning–assessment process, the Information and Communication Technology Department of UTM has developed the electronic register for tracking attendance and academic performance within SIMU.
According to the provisions of Order No. 9 from 05.04.2023, starting with the spring semester of the 2022–2023 academic year, student attendance and academic performance will be recorded electronically across all UTM faculties.
The register is available for Cycle I – bachelor’s degree studies (both forms of education) and Cycle II – master’s degree studies.
Its role is to ensure efficient record-keeping of the educational process, student attendance, and to reduce workload through the automation of recorded data.
With a focus on the learning process, students will have the opportunity to evaluate their own activity, tracking their performance curve based on academic results.
To maximize the use of this tool, following the development and integration with SIMU Collaborators of the Information System “Electronic Register for Attendance and Current Performance Tracking”, the Information and Communication Technology Department of UTM has created an informational video guide on how to complete it.
The electronic register represents an accessible and secure platform within SIMU. It can be accessed through the “My University” portal at www.utm.md.
This project was carried out with the support of the Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Dinu ȚURCANU.
